چکیده
"Understanding Equity and Trusts" is a sister text to Alastair Hudson's leading textbook "Equity and Trusts", that gives those unfamiliar with the subject a clear, accessible, readable and comprehensive overview of the main themes in this dynamic area of the law. Whether used at the beginning of studying this field, as an aid to study or in the period before examinations, this book provides the reader with an invaluable grounding in all of the key principles of equity and the law of trusts. This book covers all of the topics that a student reader will encounter in any trusts law or general equity course. The text deals with express trusts, resulting and constructive trusts, the duties of trustees, breach of trust and tracing, commercial uses of trusts, charities, pensions, trusts of homes and equitable remedies. The third edition has been revised and updated to include new material on investing trusts and trustee's duties and the material on charities has been substantially rewritten in the light of the Charities Act 2006. The law of trusts is built on simple basic principles. The approach of this book is to begin with a clear presentation of those principles before guiding the reader through the more complex issues which are the feature of examinations in this subject. The lively text includes a large number of straightforward examples to make the discussion of the general law more accessible.

Bend Time

Time is the ultimate commodity. We all wish we had another hour in the day, right? You might be wondering, "Who has the time to read another business book?" Well, this is the only book I have read recently that saved me time. By putting to use David's recommendations, my "time to successful outcome" has been cut in half.

Great for Business, Not so Muc

Ministers are in the people business. This book is a jargon filled book on developing relationships within the business world. The book is a hybrid between a scientific and practical outlook on developing relationships to advance one's career in the corporate culture. The book has some relevance to the church culture, but most of it does not quickly translate over into a Christian world. The book does an good job of explaining and providing wisdom on the art of networking which is a must talent for evangelism in a busy society. Often conversions happen through a person introducing another person to the church. A minister must be able to relate to the friends and family of the members for continued growth in the congregation. The downfall of the book for the church culture is that much of the information is directed toward building a network of higher up people int he business world. It is a "how to step up" in one's career. This does not fit into the spirit of Christ for evangelism. The best book I have read on masterful networking that would translate well to the church is "Never Eat Lunch Alone." Read that book before reading this book.

A Road Map for Effective Busin

David Nour is an unequaled expert on how to build effective business relationships. Relationship Economics offers insightful tips and robust methodologies for building relationships to strengthen your business.

Business is becoming more global and technology is displacing many interactions that formerly took place face to face, yet relationships are more important than ever. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, and David shows us how to build it in the most sincere and mutually beneficial way.

Unlike many books that focus on building relationships to "get the sale," Nour has a much broader scope. He looks both at relationships within organizations and those that reach externally. He shows how relationships help you to make better decisions, to be more innovative, and to accomplish more.

Drawing from diverse examples, he gives us a road map for making relationships more strategic, fruitful and fulfilling.

The First 50 Pages, The Last 5

Having heard Nour speak at a meeting, I picked his book up in the Nashville airport, and was the wiser for reading it when I got to DFW. It sags in the middle but the start and the end are outstanding. The Big Idea: develop a network that is relevant to you and to those in the network; don't waste your time cultivating relationships which can't help you meet your goals or help those in the network meet their goals(note, this is not permission to be a jerk to people or only hang out with those who can do you good; it is about the unalterable fact that you just have so much time in the day and so much life force to utilize it); get to really know someone( ask them how they are measured at their company or what their 3 goals are for the year). At his talk, he spoke about "Dinner at the Nours" where he invites people that are not only relevant but diverse(the other key to builing the network). I started doing it and he has produced both good friendships, not just for me but for people who come who would never have meet absent "Dinner at Mike's." It has also produced business, and not always from sources I would have expected. Nour essentially tells us it is a good thing to be a mensch. He is right.

Cover to Cover in One Sitting

This is one of those rare business books that I found myself reading from cover to cover in one sitting. It is filled with thought-provoking ideas as well as practical techniques for building relationships that truly have life-changing potential; and the book is both fun and easy to read. I have already ordered six more copies to give to friends and colleagues.
